The Singing Cedar Chorus is singing “Remembering Radio”

The Singing Cedar Chorus is proud to present its annual dinner show, “Remembering Radio” at a show on Sat. April 21st 5:00 pm for dinner with show to follow. Buffet style meal will be served before the show at Kochenderfer Christian Life center,1105 Kochenderfer Rd. Lebanon Pa. 17046.

Filled with humor and music, this family-friendly show features a large variety of songs performed by the chorus as well as chapter quartets, “4th Dimension”, “Ring Leaders” and our special guests "Razz-ma-tazz ”. We enjoy sharing the art of a Capella singing with our guests. A portion of the shows proceeds goes to help promote this art form of barbershop singing in Lebanon County.

The Singing Cedar Chorus is an all-male a capella chorus consisting of 32 men varying in age from early teens to mid 80’s who enjoy sharing this original art form of barbershop singing through educational workshops and performances throughout the Lebanon County and surrounding communities. Voted small chorus champions, this lively group of vocal artists is eager to entertain you with a mix of tunes from many genres as well as classic hits.

Valentine's Day can be made even more special for your loved ones this year with a Singing Valentine

delivered by a Barbershop Quartet. Members of the Singing Cedar Chorus will deliver Singing Valentines for area

residents and business people looking for a fun and exciting new way to send a Valentine message to their sweethearts, special clients

or customers.

The Singing Cedar Chorus is a non-profit educational organization under section 501(c)(3) of the internal revenue service and affiliated with th Barbershop Harmony Society, an international organization dedicated to foster this truly American form of Music.The Annual Singing Valentines campaign is one of the organization's major fundraising efforts in support of their core mission to preserve and advance the American musical art form of barbershop harmony, and to encourage music education in the schools and communities of Lebanon County

The Singing Cedar Chorus Wins at Mid Atlantic Competition

 

Harrisburg, PA. (May 17, 2014) In a competition jam packed with high excitement and musical talent, The Singing Cedar Chorus from Lebanon Pa. has won the Plateau A Western Division Championship of the Barbershop Harmony Society for 2014, held at the Harrisburg Hilton on May 16th and 17th 2014. The group edged out the competition with their touching rendition of "You keep coming back like a song" and the energetic and upbeat "Sailing away on the old Henry Clay."

 

Directed by Bob Ramsey, and composed of men ranging in age from 15 to 86, from Lebanon, Berks and Dauphin counties The Singing Cedar Chorus was formed in 1948 and has won previous Mid Atlantic District, Western Division competitions in 1979,1995,1996,1997,1999,2002,2003,and 2004.

LOCAL CHORUS INVITES MEN WHO LIKE TO SING

(Singing Cedar Chorus, Lebanon, PA.)—Men of all ages who like to sing are invited to join the Singing Cedar Chorus on Tuesday evenings 7:30 pm at Zion Lutheran Church 28 north 9th street Lebanon, PA. Rear entrance.

It’s all part of You Can Sing Too, a North American recruitment campaign by the Barbershop Harmony Society. The Singing Cedar Chorus represents the Barbershop Harmony Society’s Lebanon Chapter.

"You don't have to have a terrific voice or know how to read music,” said Jody Appleby-Chapter president. “The only requirement is that you enjoy singing, fun and fellowship. And, this is a great hobby for fathers and sons to share."

Guests will be invited to join in singing harmony. Refreshments will be served.

"We want men to enjoy the thrill of making a chord ring," Appleby added. "That takes more than talent; it takes a positive attitude and desire."

Membership in the chapter offers men an opportunity to improve their singing ability, participate in competitions with other chapters, and present public shows and concerts in the local area.

The Barbershop Harmony Society, an international singing organization with 30,000 members throughout the United States and Canada. The Society offers a broad program of music education for men interested in furthering their knowledge and appreciation of vocal music. Local chapters also support a number of charitable causes.
